Final Fantasy

The Final Fantasy games were started back in 1987 by one Hironobu Sakaguchi, and they have had about 13 to 14 sequels spanning over 20 years of survival and innovation. If you compared the graphics of the first Final Fantasy game to the latest edition, you would be not only amazed but surprised at how far that series came along. But as the years went by, the storyline and the characters changed as well. The main characters that are known now are Tidus (FF10 and 10-2), Wakka (FF 10 and 10-2), Yuna (FF 10 and 10-2), Cloud (FF 7), Leon (FF 5) and many others. But the main bad guy that everyone recognizes with hearing the words "Final Fantasy" is Sephiroth. Sephiroth is the main bad guy in Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children and the only one that can beat him is Cloud. This game is one of the few Final Fantasy games that got made into a movie. But throughout this storyline, Cloud is hunting down his brother and trying to figure out what he is up to, but when he does find out Cloud tries to stop him at all costs. And in the final 15 to 20 minutes of the movie, Sephiroth and Cloud battle it out to the end, in which in the end Cloud defeats Sephiroth and saves the world. But as far as all of the games go, I really like all of them because not only does each one give you new characters and new storylines to keep the series fresh, but they also give you new worlds to explore. Overall I give all of the games and 100 out of 10.

Great Rock Songs of the past and Present

There have been many great bands in world history, some of which will be remembered longer then others. But as far as I am concerned, all great rock bands will live forever. Some of these bands of the past are Journey, Van Halen, Pink Floyd, Metallica, AC DC, Black Sabbith, Poison and many others. Some of the current day bands are Disturbed, Evanescene, Motorhead, Dragon Force and so on. The bands of the past will live forever because they helped to re-make rock and roll for the next generation while the current day bands continue to re-define rock and roll each and every day they can. As far as my favorite band goes, I like Disturbed above all because they make a lot of great songs with each album they come out with, and that is very hard to. The average band will probably come out with about three maybe four good songs in their albums, while disturbed will come out with five, six or seven good songs among four maybe five great songs in their album. My most favorite songs that I like from them are Stricken, Down with the Sickness, Inside the Fire and Perfect Insanity. I like Journey for quite a few reasons, one of them is that obviously they make great songs and another reason is that they have a Phillipno lead singer and I am Phillipino myself. I like the other bands because some of their songs have a great story background. For example the song "Every Rose has it's Thorns" by Poison lead singer Brett Michaels, was made because he went through a harsh ending to a serious relationship he had at the time. But overall, I rate all of the bands beyond any number because they will live forever and they put their own hearts into each and every one of their songs.

The result of George St-Pierre vs BJ Penn 2

There are very few or very rare times in life when you get to see two great champions, in their prime , get to go at it in one of the biggest events of the year. Well, this was one of those times with UFC Welterweight champion George St-Pierre faced off against UFC Lightweight champion "The Prodigy" BJ Penn. These two fought each other nearly three years ago when GSP barely beat Penn via split decision and after that moment GSP Fought UFC legend and current welterweight champion of that time, Matt Hughes (Hughes pro mma record 43 wins and 7 loses) and defeated him. Penn on the other hand went into serious training in order to prepare him for the re-match he had been waiting for. His opponent was the man that gave him his first ever lose, "Little Evil" Jens Pulver and throughout that fight Penn just destroyed Pulver and in the second round, he finished him by rear-naked choke. Then he went on and was finally able to capture the UFC Lightweight championship and became just the second man in UFC history to win a championship in two different weight classes, his first title was the welterweight championship. Now it was time for both BJ Penn and GSP to defend their belts and both were successful at it, with Penn beating former champion Sean Sherk and GSP destroying Jon Fitch. After those fights it was time for the two to meet again but for the welterweight title. The fight lived up to all of the fans expectations but GSP was able to stop Penn before the fifth round do to stopage via broken nose. I admire the heart and determination of Penn to continue and he is a true Hawaiian warrior but on that night, GSP was the better man and the better fighter.

GSP's mma record is 17-2

BJ Penn's mma record is 14-5

Friday the 13th

Friday the 13th is known for a couple of things in the modern day society of life. One of which is the superstition that Friday the 13th is supposed to be the most un-lucky day of the entire year, which I don't know when this idea came up. But then there is one of the if not the most famous reason why it is so famous. And that reason is, Friday the 13th the movie. That's right Jason Voorhees is back from the dead, again to terrorize the new campers at camp Crystal Lake and he means business. He became a killer when he was just a kid and he was drowned in ironically, camp Crystal Lake and it was actually his mother doing the killing to avenge her son. In the end of the first movie, just when all seems peaceful at the camp, Jason himself rises up and begins to kill, which are orders from his dead mother. As the years go by and throughout the Friday the 13th and Jason movies, Jason becomes more powerful and even more deadly as he goes across the world and even into outer space. But perhaps his most thrilling and hardest foe was Freddy Kruger when the two faced off in Freddy vs Jason. This movie was not only highly anticipated but also highly hyped up and it lived up to all of the expectations. This story begins with a re-cap of how the two became evil super horror villains and perhaps the best of all time. When the two finally meet face to face, it is at camp Crystal Lake and then, they duke it out. On one side you have Freddy Kruger and on the other side, you have Jason Voorhees and the humans trying to kill Freddy. In the end Jason is able to decapitate Freddy but not kill him. And now we begin the newest Jason movie and I believe it will live up to all of my expectations.

Super Bowl 43

This year's Super Bowl was one for the ages. In the Pre-game show the band that played for the Super Bowl was the legendary band Journey playing their world famous song "Don't Stop Believing". This year, the Super Bowl itself featured a 12-4 team in the Steelers and a 9-7 team in the cardinals. Just by looking at the records, you could tell that both teams had a rough season but in some people's eyes, it was the Steelers that had the tougher schedule just based on their opponents. But the Cardinals had a not so great schedule as well. But when the game started both teams looked to be just about even but that was just them warming up. When the second quarter came the Steelers were by 10 when the score was 10 - 0. And out of nowhere, Kurt Warner scores a end zone pass to Larry Fitzgerald. The kick after was good and now the score was 10 - 7 at the half time. Now came the wonderful halftime show which featured Bruce Bringstein rocking out and waking up the sold out Super Bowl crowd. In the third quarter, the Cardinals were on the tips of scoring another touchdown but then Kurt Warner threw an interception to number 92 William Harris ,a Steelers middle linebacker, and he returned it from inside the end zone all the way down to the Cardinals end zone to score a touch down. This run alone was the longest return in Super Bowl history with it being more then 100 yards. Now the score was 17 to 7 and later in the third quarter, the Steelers rack even more points by adding a field goal kick. The current score at the end of the third quarter is 20 - 7. As I was watching this, I thought the Cardinals were done, but boy was I wrong. The fourth quarter was the best one when Kurt Warner through a great pass to Larry Fitzgerald and Fitzgerald was able to go all the way into the end zone for a huge and much needed touchdown. The score is now 20 - 14 and I began to think "Okay the Cardinals might just pull off the upset of the century." As the final quarter went on the Cardinals were able to pin the Steelers deep in their own end zone and were able to score another two points because the Steelers got a Safety foul. With the score at 20 - 16 this game was getting really exciting but the most exciting point was when Fitzgerald was able to score another touchdown thanks to a great line holding their blocks and Kurt Warner being able to throw as good as he did. And for the first time, the Cardinals were leading with a score of 20 - 23. And just as it looked like as if the Steelers were going to just go into over time, Rothoelisberger threw a huge and well needed pass to Santonio Holmes and he was able to run it down all the way to the seven yard line down deep in Cardinals Territory. After their first shot at the end zone with only less then two minutes left, Rothoelisberger was able to pass to Santonio Holmes for a deaf defying catch and thus putting the Steelers back in the lead with the score at 27 - 23. Now the last few seconds of the game were perhaps the most exciting with the Cardinals just inches away from getting the lead again, but the Steelers defense was able to get to Kurt Warner and force him to loose the ball in a controversial call by the refs. From a certain stand point, it looked like as if the ball was in forward motion, but the officials called it a fumble and thus ended Super Bowl 43. I honestly thought this years Super Bowl was very exciting, much like Last year when the Giants pulled off a tremendous upset against the undefeated Patriots making with a end score of 17 - 14 with the Giants winning, and now all I can do is wait for the next exciting Super Bowl game which might be next year.

Close, but no Cigar

This Superbowl was one of the closest superbowl games I have ever seen in my entire life. The game pitted the Pittsburg Steelers vs the Arizona Cardinals. The game was back and forth with neither team showing weakness or quit in them but in the end, it was the Steelers winning and becoming the first ever franchise to win six, SIX superbowls in NFL history. The end score was 27 to 23 and it looked like as if the Cardinals would pull of the upset of a lifetime but it was not to be. But throughout the whole game, the Cardinals had about five maybe six or seven penalties against them and you have to wonder if they didn't have so many penalties, they might've won the game. But in the end, all that counts is the final score and that's it. It was a great game and both teams put their hearts out there and as a fan, I really appreciate that.
